Professional Experience

Panagiota Preka-Papadema is an assistant Professor of the Department of Physics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 1985.
Prof. Preka-Papadema graduated from the Mathematics Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and worked on her PhD in Microwave Emission from Coronal Flare Loops at the Physics department. She worked as an assistant researcher in the Hellenic National Meteorological Service during 1977-1978. She has published 100+ refereed papers and has given 100+ contributed talks at scientific conferences. She also has educational work on Astrophysics, Space Physics and Heliophysics.

Research Interests

Her scientific interests lies on the fields of Heliophysics (radio emissions from Solar active regions, Solar flares, Solar-Terrestrial Coupling), influence of helio-geomagnetic activity in human health and ancient-astronomy.

She is a leading member of the ARTEMIS IV solar radiospectograph of the University of Athens.
